June 2019 Workshop Gallery

Free writing workshops were held in June 2019 with the judges. Fiona Kidman  explored some basic principles of writing, with an emphasis on short stories, their shape, length and the approach that makes a reader sit up and pay attention from the beginning. While Poetry judge, James  Brown talked about areas of concern in poetry, with particular reference to common pitfalls.
